Music labels are more important than ever before. In a world flooded with choice, recommendation is king and labels are powerful sources of recommendation.
If you have a roster of artists, create a label account. A label page is almost exactly the same as an artist page. You create a profile, upload a picture, write a biography and let the world know who you are and who you look after.
The one thing you can't do is upload music. This might seem pretty dumb because you are a record label after all but please read on. If your artists are on Alterhit you can connect with them. Send a request to affiliate which is a bit like a friend request. They accept and you're affiliated. Their picture will appear on your page. So will their music. And if they've posted any gigs, they'll appear too. All this information automatically updates as your artists update their pages.
Visitors to your page will be able to see at a glance who your artists are; listen to their music and see what they're up to. Which we think is pretty cool.

An independent label based in Brighton on England?s South Coast, Fat Cat and its various imprints has nurtured: from divergent forms of electronica to all manner of post rock and indie; downtempo breaks to minimal techno; sparse piano compositions to abstract / explosive noise and angular punk pop.
