Hailing from the Midwest, the twenty-three year old live-performer has more tricks up his sleeve than a standard poker deck. No newcomer to the music scene, DJ SMALL champion, a.k.a. Chris Wanta, has been producing and managing bands since the age of sixteen as an event coordinator for non-profit organizations including Earthdance 2004. In 2007, Chris Wanta took his hands-on approach in home recording to Columbia College where he learned from legendary musical composition professors Kimo Williams and Steve Cole. DJ SMALL champion soon found himself immersed in the college party scene that whirled him into a world of turntables and dance parties. Through a haze of dreams and dedication, within two years of hitting the live stage with turntables, DJ SMALL champion has had the opportunity to open for acts including Matisyahu, The Flobots, Steve Aoki, MSTRKRFT and Basshunter. His accomplishments don't end there, also add to the list international collaborations with artists including Eat Static (U.K.), Monsiuer Adi (Italy) and Jaques Hild (Italy). Catching the attention of fellow Midwest native, Serpiko, DJ SMALL champion was asked to produce a hip-hop mixtape from single tracks which was remixed into the free downloadable mixtape 'How to Hustle & Flow: Volume 1,' available through datpiff.com.
